DESCRIPTION: Length Up to 5mm. One of the red weevils that needs a little patience to fully identify. The head, thorax and abdomen are all orange/red as well as the antennae and legs with only the extreme tarus black. The elytra is oval and grooved and the head structure is completely punctated both above and below. The rostrum is broadest subapically and shining in apical half. DISTRIBUTION: Widely distributed throughout the UK. HABITAT: On the leaves of various Docks. PERIOD: April to June. |
